Redefining What’s Possible in Independent Wealth Management
Redefining What’s Possible in Independent Wealth Management
Over the past two decades, the independent financial advisory
landscape has evolved significantly — bringing with it a
unique opportunity for firms committed to preserving their
independence and authenticity.
Today’s environment, shaped by a
rising generation of leadership,
democratized
access to institutional-grade technology, and unprecedented
transparency in valuations and deal structures,
offers forward-looking firms the chance not just to
survive this era of mass aggregation — but to thrive in
it.
At AGC Plover Hill, we
challenge the conventional thinking
that internal succession from G1 to G2 is impractical or
economically out of reach. We reject the notion that
independent firms must compromise their identity to stay
competitive.
We believe in a different path — one where
independence is not only preserved but amplified.
With the right capital, strategy, and partnership, advisory
firms can grow, evolve, and
define success on their own terms.
Our steadfast principles serve as our cornerstone to ensure
uniformity and alignment in fulfilling our mission.
Longevity
We think in terms of generational value creation, not
quartly earnings
Perseverance
We are stewards of the Founders’ legacy while supporting
the next generation in building an enduring future
Authenticity
We believe one size doesn’t fit all and that true
success is achieved through the empowerment of
authenticity

Common Challenges
Facing RIAs Today
Legacy Preservation
G1 seeks flexible exit timelines for retirement
G1 wants a structured path to G2 earning into partnership
G1 desires fair market value for exit liquidity
G2 lacks access to capital resources to buy out G1 at market terms
G1’s only alternative is to sell to outside parties, likely relinquishing independence
G1 sometimes hesitant to make changes that may “rock the boat”
Client messaging requires careful management during organizational changes
Growth Acceleration
G2’s path to equity ownership is sometimes opaque, with the potential for misaligned incentives
G2’s ascent to leadership may sometimes benefit from outside advice and guidance
Organic growth and M&A strategies are difficult to self-fund or finance
Operational optimization requires continual investments, especially with rapid growth
HR and human capital strategies that will promote long term growth
Ever changing technology and service offerings are challenging to analyze
